Last night, while running with the Wednesday Night Head Lampers Running Group, I logged my 200th day of consecutive running.  This is very cool.  Here are some things I have learned, or continue to learn.

1.  Taking a rest day does not necessary mean taking a day off from running.
2.  Running is not the only cure for weight loss.  One also needs to eat less.
3.  Want to race faster?  Then run faster in training and run with those who run faster than you.  They will help you.
4.  Sharkies are a great snack.  http://www.sharkiesinc.com/index2.cfm
5.  Listening to an MP3 player does not mean you are not a true runner.  I run with a Creative Zune Stone Plus and it really helps me stay out longer, when I really want to go home.  http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=213&subcategory=214&product=16696
6.  People driving while talking on a cell phone will not necessary respond to you in a positive way.
7.  Stretching is over rated.
8.  Want to be good at running?  Then run.  Cross training will not necessary make you a better or faster runner.
9.  Goals are great to help you keep a positive focus.
10.  Consecutive Day Running or Streaking will create funny looks from those who you love and who love you.
11.  It is always a wonderful experience in truly understanding what your body can do.
12.  Logging an average of 50 miles a week for the past 23 weeks has been good for my soul.

Run Happy!!!
